Kevin Stonebarger

Kevin Stonebarger is a retired, decorated police officer from California. His seventeen years of experience as a law enforcement officer included positions as a patrol officer, field training officer, K9 handler, narcotics task force officer, park ranger, and tactical team leader.  He was also a California Police Officer and Standards Training (POST) certified instructor in topics such as advanced weapons (rifle, shotgun, pistol), police officer use of force, active shooter, and traffic investigations.  Kevin served as a member of the Humboldt County Narcotics Task Force which investigated trafficking and selling of controlled substances within Humboldt County, California.  This position included undercover narcotics purchases and infiltration of narcotics sales groups.

As a California Police Officer Standards and Training (POST) qualified instructor at the Redwood Police Academy for over fifteen years, Kevin trained students in firearms, force-option simulations, vehicle pursuit, chemical agents, controlled substances, traffic enforcement, and electronic weapons. He also served as manager of the Police Officer Standards and Training Academy scenarios.

Kevin is a subject matter expert and has qualified as an expert in numerous court hearings in the areas of narcotics, police use of force, administrative policies and procedures, traffic enforcement, and crime scenes. He has conducted hundreds of investigations ranging from officer-involved shootings and murder to sexual assault and basic property crimes. Mr. Stonebarger has also been involved in personal injury investigations against public entities; a mitigation specialist for a death penalty case in Arizona; and has nine years’ experience as a private investigator in California and Arizona.
